I know you are able to put members in groups like moderator, global moderator, administrator, global administrator, etc, and you are able to modify the groups to what they can do, and see what they do in the security tab of the admin section. I think backstab should give the admins, or atleast a select few of trusted admins a special group (it does not need to have a lot of power) to clean the fourm up a little so that backstab does not have to change every little problem, such as upgrading someone's fourm rank to their ingame rank, giving people warns, etc... Backstab can always look back to the security logs and punish people who abuse this power. here are some ranks I think we should have, from least to greatest power. - Moderator, able to lock and move threads, able to see invisible invisible members, warn members.
- (less powerful admin)Administrator, all of moderator's commands, able to stick threads, bump and move threads, and make announcements, edit members' groups (like making a tmod to a mod)
- (more powerful admin)Administrator, all of the commands above, edit threads, ban members, edit profiles, mass pm, etc
The (more powerful) and (less powerful) admins is just what backstab could use, they are both one group, not two. one just has more options to put in the real one. of course the groups I provide are just options backstab could use, im just saying we need some sort of group to help the new staff being promoted. and always, backstab can always look at the security log and check if someone is abusing, and make quick action of removing a person of their rank in the fourm. |

he is wrong, I have tested my own pro boards at spike.boards.net and tested out groups, you can easily make different ranks with different commands

Spike, I don't understand why people have to do this. Why do people have to moderate threads? You could delete them, but why would you need to?
Why do you need to sticky threads? What's so important that you have to sticky it. I only sticky stuff that are really important, like rules, how to apply, how to mod, etc.
We do not need to ban members from the forums. Even if they are banned in game, they can use the forums to make appeals or apologies, etc.
You do understand that giving people the power to change people ranks means that they themselves can change their own ranks to global admin? Then doing so would give them ALL the power, meaning they can ban me, my ip your ip and even delete the forums.
You write more, but the reason I don't give people forum power because its so powerful. Giving someone mod means giving them the ability to delete any post.
As for now, I don't see much reason to give people more forum ranks because the ability to lock/move/stick/bump threads and make announcements don't seem very useful.

Like I had said, you can check the logs for any abusive people, all I really want is for a select few people like alexon or morty to have limited powers like warn, see invisible members, lock threads(so no shit posting and no random bumping to the top of the list) just the three commands would make the fourm look better, the only bad thing would be to warn someone for no reason, or lock random threads, which you can see In the logs, and fix the problem.
Also, giving people mod only gives you a select few commands, nothing to hurt the forums too much, but you can modify the mod rank to your liking

all i'm asking at this point are 3 commands worth having, but not fourm breakable, just able to warn, lock threads, and see invisible members.
