This sounds like a cruel point,but it lowered the population of several european cities that were too overpopulated. If wars never happened,every country would most likely be forced to set a restriction for parents on how much children they could have like china at the moment.If we didn't,we'd be like india who are putting their resources at risk of scarcity.
